Jay-Z “Where I’m From” Documentary

Just off celebrating his 43rd birthday, Life + Times presents a brief documentary on Jay-Z and the build-up to his opening concert at the Barclays Center – the new home to the Brooklyn Nets. This in-depth documentary shows behind-the-scenes footage of Hov and his band roaming around the stadium and getting ready for the show. Over a span of 24 minutes, the video highlights the eight back-to-back shows, backstage rehearsals at the technologically advanced coliseum, and the infamous subway ride on the J/Z line from which the rapper’s name was christened. The Marcy Projects native and his camp also share their thoughts on the significance of the show, the brand new landmark, and its relation with the Brooklyn community.

Jay-Z Opens the Barclays Center in Calvin Klein Alligator Hoodie

The powerhouse that is Jay-Z has been monopolizing headlines — both fashion, music and sports-centered media — as of late due to the recent unveiling of the Barclays Center. What will serve as the new NBA Brooklyn Nets home, Barclays Center is receiving a solid opening string of eight Jay-Z sold-out shows. Mr. Carter took the stage in a now highly discussed custom “Carter” jersey as well as a Nets hat on. In addition to the new sports garb, GQ has taken note of an all-black-everything Calvin Klein Alligator Hoodie that HOV was wearing during the Barclays Center opening. Fresh off the longrunning, Givenchy-laden Watch the Throne tour, it seems that Jay’s taking that threat to wear black for a year straight to heart yet again.
